I am a freelance magazine editor

Who says print is dead?

There’s nothing like the look, feel and smell of a new magazine. In a digital age a well-crafted magazine is a gift to readers, the definition of luxury, and a useful tool for communication and community too.

According to a recent Kantar study, “despite the continued growing importance of social media in our daily lives, print media remains the most trusted channel.” Magazines are proven to build confidence, trust and credibility for brands. And in 2019, 55% of luxury brands’ advertising spend went to print magazines.

Well-crafted customer magazines

The best branded magazines don’t push their products, but rather rely on the value of great content to engage readers. Using my tenacity as an editor I strive to uncover the curious tales and surprising facts that bring the bigger picture to life. For me it’s important that words and visuals work together to create a magazine that tells a cohesive story, from beginning to end. I can edit creative and commercial magazines for brands, combined with clever content planning to seed assets across multiple platforms.

“Ellie fits effortlessly alongside our internal team and offer invaluable support. I really appreciate her flexibility and the patient way she deals with the almost inevitable delays and last minute changes from our side. Her team not only deliver creative solutions but informed strategic advice on maximising the impact of content marketing – all the while keeping an eye on the budget.”

The first customer magazine I edited, way back in 2014, won Best Consumer Membership magazine at the International Content Marketing Awards. Since then I’ve worked across travel, art, family, architecture and family magazines.
